Thelma Goodrum, MDiv, BCC
Thelma Goodrum is an ordained Minister in the United Presbyterian Church of Brazil and is endorsed for chaplaincy ministry through the Presbyterian Church (USA). She brings more than a decade of cross-cultural ministry experience, having lived in the United States for ten years.
Her clinical formation was completed through Emory Spiritual Health’s Internship and Residency programs, followed by advanced training in Compassion-Centered Spiritual Health (CCSH), where she is a registered clinician. Thelma is a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) through the Association of Professional Chaplains and a Certified Instructor of Cognitively Based Compassion Training (CBCT®).
She currently serves as a Spiritual Health Clinician at Emory Rehabilitation Hospital and Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital, providing interdisciplinary spiritual care to patients, families, and staff.
Known for her strength as an empathic listener, Thelma is deeply committed to diversity, cultural humility, and whole-person care. Her spiritual care practice is grounded in compassion, respect, and attentive presence, offering warmth and support to those navigating vulnerability, transition, and healing.
A proud mother of two sons and grandmother, Thelma integrates both professional excellence and personal wisdom into her ministry of care.
