CG serves as the Manager of Spiritual Health Education at Emory DeKalb Operating Unit. As an ACPE Certified Educator, she coordinates and facilitates Clinical Pastoral Education programs at this site. She also provides spiritual and emotional support in various units of Emory Decatur Hospital as a spiritual health clinician. She joined Spiritual Health in June 2018. Previously, she served at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital as well as Emory University Hospital – Wesley Woods in educational and clinical capacities. Before joining Emory Spiritual Health, CG trained and served at the Atlanta Veteran Affairs Healthcare System.

CG completed her M.Div. from Columbia Theological Seminary (Decatur, GA), and she is ordained as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA). CG’s first master’s degree is from the University of Kansas in English with a creative writing (fiction) emphasis. She completed her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in English Language and Literature. Between her academic seasons, CG lived in South Korea for about three years, serving as an instructor to adults studying English as a foreign language and as a bilingual editor in an educational publishing firm.

CG lives in an Atlanta suburb with her spouse, daughter, and dog. Spending time with her family is her favorite thing. She also enjoys walking and hiking, swimming, reading fiction, and creating various types of art.
